Authorities in Mexico City linked the three members of the “Okupa” collective accused of having participated in the aggression against a teacher outside a building they had been taking part in the assault against a teacher outside a building they had been taking since 2020 to the trial for crimes against health, in the form of drug trafficking.
In a statement, the capital’s Attorney General’s Office of Justice (FGJ) announced that the evidence presented to the Supervising Judge in charge of the case allowed the initiation of proceedings against the three young women, in addition to issuing justified preventive detention, so they will remain in the Centre for Social Reintegration of Saint Martha Acatitla.
The judicial authority determined that they must remain in place for at least 30 days, a period of time that was projected for the closure of the additional investigations in the case.
“In follow-up to the joint actions carried out by the Attorney General’s Office of Justice and the Secretariat of Citizen Security, both in Mexico City, to recover a building belonging to the National Human Rights Commission in the Historic Center, which was occupied for 19 months by various groups, this afternoon, the The Public Ministry obtained the connection to the process of three women who were arrested during the police and ministerial deployment carried out last Friday,” said Ulises Lara, FGJ spokesman.
